Instructions for Presentation
Instructions on oral presenation
Invited papers have 30 minutes and contributed papers have 20 minutes including discussions. Please try to finish your talk leaving 5 minutes for questions and discussion from the audience. Since time schedule is tight, it is important NOT to exceed the time period. If you do, the session chair may stop your talk.
We assume that most presenters will want to use their own personal computers, so we will prepare a projector, which can be connected to your computer. The NOH theatre has audio facilities, and the audio outputs from your computer can be amplified. We will also prepare personal computers for those who cannot bring their own computers. Prepare your presentation file on a CD-ROM or a USB device. If you will not bring your own computer for presentation, CONTACT YOUR SESSION ORGANIZER BEFORE FEBRUARY 20.
We will prepare a switching box to simultaneously connect all computers for each session so as to minimize the time loss between presentations.
Since all the computers will be connected before the session, you are requested to come to the session AT LEAST 15 MINUTES BEFORE the session starts. If you cannot make your presentation using a computer and need an over-head projector (we do NOT recommend this option), please CONTACT YOUR SESSION ORGANIZER BEFORE FEBRUARY 20.
If you have any special equipment needs, CONTACT YOUR SESSION ORGANIZER BEFORE FEBRUARY 20. We will arrange them upon availability.
All the oral presentation will be held on the NOH stage, a stage specially arranged for the famous Japanese historical art form. All speakers will be required to remove their shoes and change into secial slippers provided by us before getting on the stage. Sorry for the inconvenience, but we think this offers you a memorable experience. (You may know that, if you visit Japanese houses, you are expected to remove your shoes indoors.)
Session organizers for oral sessions are as follows:

To those who are planning to make presentations with their computers and other electric devices:
The electricity provided in the conference venue is 100V, 60Hz. Also note that the shape of electrical outlets is “parallel” style. There will be no problem for attendants from U.S., but attendants from Europe, China etc. should prepare by themselves converters to connect their computers and other electric devices to the Japanese shape outlets.
